- Week 5 Period: 13 UNIT2: HEALTHY LIVING Lesson 5: SKILLS 1 I. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: *Vocabulary: - Vocabulary to talk about healthy living: speacial soap, pop, cause, get serious, disease, take care of, put on weight, flu. * Grammar: - use the present simple tense * Pronunciation: Pronouncing the new words correctly: speacial soap, pop, cause, get serious, disease, take care of, put on weight, flu. 2. Competencies: a. General competencies: By the end of the lesson students will be able to - Group work and independent working, pair work, linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence. - know more the form and use the present simple tense; Students can use Simple present tense to talk about daily activies. - Develop communication skills and creativity. Be supportive in pair work and team work - Actively join in class activities. b. Specific competencies: - Be ready to talk about Healthy living - Know some daily activities whether good or bad for health 3. Qualities: - To teach Ss the love of English; the love of their new school. - The awareness about importance of living healthily. - Ss have the good attitude to working in groups, individual work, and pairwork, cooperative learning and working. II. PREPARATIONS Teacher: Text book, laptop, loudspeaker, projector Students: Text books, studying equipment’s . III. PROCEDURE ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP GW/PW/IW) 1. Aim: - To create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson; - To lead into the new lesson. 2. Content: - Having some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the new lesson. 3. Products: - Interest and concentration of Sts on the class activities. - A friendly and relaxed atmostphere to the new lesson - A chance to speak English and focus on the topic of the lesson.. 4. Implementation: - Teacher instructs - Sts do as required TEACHER AND STUDENTS' ACTIVITIES CONTENTS Step 1: Task delivering - Chatting
- Step 2: Task performance + Greeting + game - Teacher divides class into 2 teams and asks them + Playing GAME to think of the word which has 13 letters in it related the topic “health problems”. GAME: HANGMAN - Ss have 1 min to think of the words related to the topic or they can discuss with their partners. - Each member from each team turn by turn guesses the letter in the secret word. - Teacher corrects their answers. - The team which can find or guess the secret first will be the winner. - Teacher leads students into the lesson by telling S K I N C O N D I T I O N what they are going to learn: “We are going to read a passage about one of the most common “Skin condition” among teenagers. - Lead to the new lesson: Reading and Speaking lesson about hobbies and their benefits. - Introduce the objectives of the lesson. - Ss open their book and write the tittle of the lesson . Step 3: Report and discussion - Sts join in the discussion and do as required Step 4: Judgement -T summarizes the discussion and leads to Activity 2. ACTIVITY 2: KNOWLEDGE FORMATION (15') 1. Aim: - To get Ss acquainted with reading skills. - To help Ss understand and activate their knowledge of the topic of the lesson. - To introduce words related to skin conditions to Ss and help Ss have a general idea of what they are going to read. - To help Ss develop their reading skill for specific information (scanning) and help them focus on the problem of acne. 2. Content: - To practice using the present simple in context. - Elicit Vocabulary by using pictures or real items. - Read the text and Do the matching . 3. Products: - Vocabulary about the topic - Development of reading skills by looking at the pictures and doing the exercises. - Ss get some specific information about the text. Do the matching correctly. 4. Implementation: TEACHER AND STUDENTS' ACTIVITIES CONTENTS Step 1: Task delivering - T sets the scene/ context for the speaking and 1. Reading reading. Aim:

Content: - To use present simple to do the exercises. - Read the passage again and choose the correct answers. - Read the passage. Pick the tips for acne which you can easily follow - Read about the health problems. Discussing and making notes of some tips... 3. Products: - Understand more about using the words in contexts. - Getting more information to understand the three passages. - Improve reading skills. Ss get more information about acne. - Ss read and pick the tips for acne; which tip they can easily follow. - Ss can make notes of some tips they can give each person. 4. - T allows Ss to give comments for their friends and vote for the most interesting and informative presentation. Ss do as required.
