- UNIT 7: TRAFFIC Lesson 5: Skills 1 (Time: 1 period) Period: 59 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Reading: Read for specific information about some rules about road safety - Speaking: Talk about how to avoid traffic accidents. 2. Competencies: a. General competencies: - Develop communication skills and creativity. - Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and team work. - Develop presentation skills. - Actively join in class activities. b. Specific competencies: - Know how to avoid traffic accidents - Be benevolent and responsible - Establish good habits in obeying traffic rules 3. Qualities: - Develop self-study skills. - Students love, preserve and be proud of their school. II. PREPARATIONS: - Teacher: Textbooks, teaching plan, teacher’s book, projector, CD. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks III. PROCEDURE ACTIVITY 1: Warm-up (5’-GW) 1. Aim: To help students be excited in class. - To introduce the topic of reading; - To enhance students’ skills of cooperating with teammates. 2. Content: Game: Hangman 3.
