Time Steps/Activities Organization 5’ Warm-up • Teacher – Sing and dance “The Wheels on The Bus” song whole class (Source: Option 1: • Teacher – “Bang!” game Whole class/ Divide the class into four groups. groupwork Prepare some pieces of paper, write words or letters on them, fold them in half, then, put them into four boxes. Also add a few cards that say "BANG!". Give each group a box. Students take turns picking cards. If they read out the word correctly, they will keep the word. If they get a “BANG!” card, they will yell “BANG!” and then return all their cards (except the BANG! card) to the can/box. After three minutes, the group that has most words in total is the winner. Option 2: • Teacher – “Jump” game Whole class/ Divide the class into four teams. groupwork Have one student from each team stand a distance from the board. Draw four big circles on the floor. Each circle has a letter (Rr, Ss, Tt, Uu) Call out one word (E.g. rabbit). The students try to jump into the circle with the corresponding letter. The winner is the student who jumps into the correct letter circle first. New lesson

Take a letter flashcard or a picture and hide it somewhere in the classroom (behind a curtain, on a chair, under a book, etc). Shout "Go!" and have students race around the classroom looking for that letter or the picture. The student that finds it yells it out and wins a point. Workbook page 42 • Teacher – A. Let’s play soccer. 2. Let’s play hopscotch. 3. Let’s play tag. 4. Let’s play hide and seek. 5. Let’s play hopscotch. 6. Let’s play soccer. Have pairs of students take turn throwing the dice. One student of each pair says the sentence that matched the number on the die, E.g. “Let’s play (tag).” and the other student responds “Yes” or “No”. Swap roles. Continue the game in the same way. Option 2 • Teacher – “Musical chairs” game Whole class/ Have students stay on their seats. individuals
  5. Play music and ask them to move around. Take away two chairs and suddenly stop music. Have students sit on any chairs. The two students who have no chairs to sit on will make commands and responses. E.g. • Student A: Let’s play hide and seek! • Student B: Yes. Swap roles and continue the game in the same way.
