Procedures: Time Steps/Activities Organization 5’ Warm-up • Teacher – “Alphabet Soup” game whole class/  Place plastic letters in a bowl. groupwork 1 | P a g e
  2.  Divide flashcards by their beginning letters and put them next to the bowl.  Divide the class into two groups. Have one student from each group go to the board. One student picks up a letter from a bowl and write it on the board, the other student finds the flashcards associated with that letter. Option 1: • Teacher – "Bingo" game Whole class/  Divide the class into groups of five. groupwork  Write some words on the board.  Have students choose nine words on the board and write them down on their piece of paper.  One student read the words aloud.  Tell the students that any time his/her friend reads a word that they have written down, they can cross out that word.  When one student has crossed out three words in a vertical or horizontal or diagonal line, then, shouts "Bingo!". Option 2: • Teacher – “Card recall” game Whole class/  Give each student five letter cards and have them work in pair work pairs.  Student 1 of each pair shows his/ her friend the cards and counts to ten then places them face down on the desk.  Student 2 has to recall what the five letters and the words that begin with those letters are. Swap roles. New lesson 25’ A. Listen and draw lines. (CD2 - Track 65) • Teacher –  Have students look at the pictures and call out the people, Whole class/ places, and objects they can see. individuals 2 | P a g e
  3.  Play audio and demonstrate the activity using the example.  Play audio. Have students listen and draw lines.  Play audio again and check answers as a whole class. B. Play "Stepping stones." • Teacher –  Divide the class into pairs. Whole class/  Have Student A start at A and say the first sentence. pair work  Have Student B start at B and say the first sentence.  Have students take turns saying the sentences as they go all the way around "Do as I say, not as I do" game • Teacher –  Divide the class into groups. Whole class/  Tell students they must only follow the commands, not the groupwork actions of the teacher.  Demonstrate the game by giving the students different commands.  If the action and what the teacher says don’t match, students don’t copy the action, but do what the teacher says instead.  Give points to the first teams who do the correct actions. Workbook page 66 • Teacher –  Have students open their workbooks – page 66 Whole class/ A. Read and draw. individuals  Set up time limit by 2 minutes timer bomb (source:  Have students read the words, then draw shapes.  Check understanding and give the correct answers as a whole class. B. Listen and number (WB 38).  Have students identify the pictures of part B.  Guide them how to do the text. 3 | P a g e
  4.  Play audio. Have students listen and write the number in each box.  Play audio again. Have students listen and check.  Check understanding and correct mistake as a whole class. C. Draw lines.  Have students look at the pictures, read the commands then match.  Check students’ answers as a whole class. 5’ Wrap up Option 1: • Teacher – “Throw the dice” game Whole class/  The teacher prepares dice with the numbers 1 – 6. groupwork  Number the actions like the list below: 1. Pick up a pencil 2. Count numbers 3. Spell words 4. Sing songs 5. Draw pictures 6. Ask your friend “Where are you from?”  Divide the class into pairs and give each pair a die.  Student 1 throws the dice and reads out a number.  Student 2 tries to do the action. Swap roles and continue the game in the same way. Option 2: • Teacher – “Speak Button Game” game Whole class/  Divide the class into four groups. groupwork  Invite one student from each group to come to the board.  Explain that the four students are going to race to answer.  Draw a circle on the board and write the words 'Speak 4 | P a g e
  5. Button' inside the circle.  The teacher shows up a flashcard.  The students run to the board and race to touch the speak button. The first student who touches the button guesses what the flashcard is.  If he/she guesses correctly, he/she get one point for his/her team.  Continue in the same way. 5 | P a g e
